A book that is almost a challenge. The photographs were all taken just outside the study of Morag Paterson home and Ted Leeming in the southwest of Scotland.
This strange and improbable idea brought the two photographers in a deep search in always finding new and interesting ideas. The result is a consistent style but surprisingly varied.
Their "Room with a View" overlooking a river valley with a look that lingers on slippery hills in the distance.
The use of long focal lengths gives the images a soft light, enhanced by evocative humid climate of the Scottish region. It is precisely the light and the atmosphere the main theme. The images seem to speak of mysterious things and leave our imagination to travel in our romantic fantasies.
For Morag and Ted the fundamental elements in landscape photos are the study of light, space and the lines in relation to the season and time of day.
